THE ANIMAL CORNER

Since 2007 the Cochav Center has been providing a warm home not only to its members but also to rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens and parrots.  The animals live in a specially built animal corner.   Every day, center members ensure that the animals are fed; their cages are clean and tidy as well as stroking and petting them.  They collect the eggs and observe their actions and development.  Tending to the animals provides Cochav Center members with an opportunity to create significant non-verbal contacts with them. It enables them to perform the role of care agents as well as engendering an awareness of responsibility to others.
