PRIZES AND AWARDS
2001 – The “Shalem Foundation” Prize awarded for the management of a unique and excellent project within the “Cochav Center” framework, a regional center for multiple disabilities and care and treatment for intellectually disabled persons, Ma’alot.
2004 – “Benevolence Medal” from the Beit Issie Shapiro for extraordinary work for the welfare of people with development disabilities.
PROFESSIONAL CONVENTIONS
May 2009 - Annual Conference of the AAIDD (American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) in Miami. Lecture by Ruth Goffer, Managing Director of the Cochav Association on addressing the needs of people with special needs during the Second Lebanese War.
June 2009 – Convention of the Intellectually Disabled Wing of the Ministry of Social Affairs at the David Intercontinental Hotel in Tel Aviv. Within the framework of the convention the Cochav Center team presented treatment dilemmas and invited the audience to participate in such scenarios. The scenarios were accompaniment by the “Or Hatof” Drum Ensemble – accomplished musicians with special needs within the associations care program.
